In 2020, the Ministry of Justice announced its intention to pilot five new problem-solving courts, including one which should specifically focus on the distinct needs of women who offend. Based on the existing evidence base on problem-solving courts, and drawing from the admittedly limited existing practice of problem-solving courts specifically focused on the distinct needs of women, this evidence and briefing paper outlines lessons learned to date.
