Our previous collaborative work with the Women’s Budget Group has enabled us to publish critical new data about the extent of the funding gap women’s organisations are currently challenged by.

In May 2025, The Women’s Centre Model – the Financial Case for Alternatives to Prison briefing, written by Dr Eva Neitzert, combined NWJC data with expert insight and economic analysis from the WBG to make a compelling case for the systemic change we need to see to safeguarding the sustainability and impact of women’s organisations.

So this month, we are delighted to welcome and recognise the Women’s Budget Group as a Friend of the National Women’s Justice Coalition.

The UK Women’s Budget Group (WBG) is the UK’s leading feminist economics think tank, providing evidence and analysis on women’s economic position and proposing policy alternatives for a gender-equal economy. It occupies a unique position, acting as a link between feminist academics, the women’s voluntary sector and think tanks and policymakers. WBG draws on a network of pro-bono experts from academia, the new economics and the women’s movements, alongside a professional staff team, who are all essential to their work. WBG also works in partnership with their sister in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
