Resource Summary
Advance conducted research with the women using their services during the first year of the pandemic, publishing findings and recommendations in their 2021 report, Women Demand Better Mental Health: the impact of abuse, trauma and the Covid-19 pandemic on women’s mental health.
Two years on from the first lockdown, and one year on from the publication of that report, Advance investigated how women’s mental health needs had changed. A series of focus
groups were conducted with service staff, a staff-wide survey, and an analysis of internal service data examined the needs of 2015 women across their domestic abuse services and 1312 women across their criminal justice services.
