Supporting Womens Participation

Eight women join the panel from across England and Wales

We’re delighted to announce the launch of the NWJC’s National Voice & Advisory Panel (NVAP) in February 2024. Eight women with lived experience of the CJS have been recruited from across multiple women’s organisations as the first panel members and share a passion for driving systemic change to improve outcomes for other women and girls in contact with the criminal justice system.

NVAP members are now regularly participating in bi-weekly meetings, workshops and focus groups, supported by our Women’s Participation working group. Through these sessions, they can offer expert insight to support and inform the NWJC’s strategic influencing, campaigning and messaging work.

We are grateful to a number of our partner organisations, including Advance, Birth Companions, The Nelson Trust, Women’s Centre Cornwall and Working Chance, for offering regular and ongoing supervision and advocacy to each panel member and to The Goldsmiths Company for generously funding and supporting this work. We look forward to inviting more women to apply to become NVAP member soon.

If you are interested in joining the NVAP or supporting other women to do so, please get in touch!
