The National Women’s Justice Coalition (NWJC) is proud to announce the launch of www.WomensServicesMap.com, the UK’s first directory of women’s centres and specialist services for women and girls in contact with the criminal justice system.
Aimed at both professionals supporting CJS involved women, and women wishing to access services directly themselves, this new interactive and intuitive website currently maps over 75 UK based women’s centres and almost 230 specialist services for women and girls with criminal justice involvement.
We believe this website has the potential to be a transformative tool that will increase and improve women’s access to women’s centres and specialist services in both prison and the community.
Visitors to the website can search for women’s centres and services in multiple ways, using an interactive map, targeted postcode search or by filtering services by organisation or service specialism. The website also includes comprehensive contact details for all listed organisations as well as guidance and instructions for making direct referrals and self-referrals to services. Prison based services are also catalogued for each of the UK’s twelve women’s prisons and can be filtered by prison.
The NWJC is committed to supporting the development of this website on an ongoing basis and will be proactively encouraging more and more organisations to be added to the directory, increasing its reach and representation across the UK. Organisations currently delivering services and support for women and girls in contact with the criminal justice system and that are interested in being listed in the directory are invited to contact us for more information. Directory listings are completely free of charge, but all featured organisations will be obliged to commit to regularly reviewing and updating their content.
Please download our Guidance for organisations wishing to be featured on the Map for further information.
