We were delighted to see some 200 activists, practitioners, policy specialists and researchers join the online panel discussion we co-hosted with the Centre for Crime and Justice Studies (CCJS) on Tuesday (18/03/25), centred around how to make the justice system work for women.

The event was planned to support the launch of a new report, Breaking out of the Justice Loop, co-authored by Naomi Delap and Liz Hogarth, published earlier this month. Helen Mills, Head of Programmes at CCJS, joined Naomi and Liz on a panel chaired by our Director of Development, Abbi Ayers.
Together, the panel explored the broad challenge of creating a justice system that works for women. Liz set the scene, looking back over the chequered history of women’s justice reforms and learnings from previous work. Naomi provided an overview of the report itself, summarising its core themes, ideas and recommendations. And Helen led discussions about the multiple barriers and challenges to effective reform.
