Taking place on Sunday 27 September from 8.00pm to 9.00pm at the Arena Room Aire, Liverpool Experience Campus, the reception, Delivering for Women and Girls: The Opportunities for Earlier Intervention, will bring together policymakers, parliamentarians, sector leaders and practitioners to discuss how earlier intervention can improve outcomes for women and girls.

Across the country, specialist women’s services are providing trusted, life-changing support to young women and girls with multiple unmet needs including poverty, domestic abuse, mental ill health, substance use, and those in contact with the criminal justice system. Yet too often support is only available once challenges have reached crisis point.
This event will explore the opportunities for a more preventative approach, examining how investment in early intervention and community-based support can help address issues sooner, improve outcomes, and reduce demand on public services. The discussion will also consider the vital role of specialist services, including women’s centres, within a sustainable and joined-up ecosystem of support for women and girls.
The reception will feature contributions from a distinguished panel of speakers including:

- Kate Green, Deputy Mayor of Greater Manchester
- Dame Anneliese Dodds MP
We believe women’s centres are a crucial part of the solution. Their holistic, gender-responsive approach provides earlier, more effective support, helping women address challenges before they escalate and enabling positive outcomes for women, families and communities.
We look forward to discussing how government, local leaders and the voluntary sector can work together to deliver a stronger focus on prevention and earlier intervention for women and girls.
We will also be launching a new joint briefing with The JABBS Foundation for Women and Girls and the Centre for Young Lives, Women’s Centres: An Essential Part of the Government’s Early Intervention Infrastructure, highlighting the vital role Women’s Centres play in delivering earlier intervention and preventative support for women and girls.
